Types of Sedation We Offer

Dr. DeAngelo uses local anesthetics to ensure our patients are comfortable when receiving treatment. However, if you would like to be even more relaxed for your procedure, Dr. DeAngelo offers sedation to relieve your anxiety and make your visit as comfortable as possible. All methods are safe and closely monitored by Dr. DeAngelo.

Nitrous Oxide – A special mask is worn and nitrous oxide is inhaled. Also called “laughing gas,” this method has been used by dentists for decades because it is fast-acting and can be controlled from minute to minute. After the procedure, you will feel like your normal self within minutes and will even be able to drive yourself home.

IV Sedation – You will be completely relaxed with a flow of sedation directly into your bloodstream that is closely controlled and monitored by Dr. DeAngelo. Your heart rate and breathing will be monitored as well. This method is great for patients with a very high level of anxiety. Patients typically do not even remember being in the dental chair after their visit, and will need someone to drive them home.
